CEREC

At 5th Avenue Dental Associates, getting the smile you always wanted just got a whole lot easier – and faster, too.

In continuing our commitment to do right by you, the patient, we have invested in obtaining the CEREC system. It delivers quality restorations in just one visit!

Most advanced dental restorative procedure require multiple visits. This means on the first visit you often get an injection of local anesthesia, your tooth prepared, an impression taken and a temporary restoration is fabricated. You make a second appointment a couple of weeks later where you may get another injection, have the temporary pried off (if it hasn’t fallen off already) and have the permanent restoration cemented in (hopefully it fits). Why go to the dentist a second or third time if you don’t have to? With CEREC, the procedure is done in a single appointment, start to finish. From simple fillings and inlays to onlays and full crowns, CEREC uses state-of-the-art CAD/CAM technology, making your restorations look and feel like the real thing.

Here’s what makes CEREC so special:

  • Single visit convenience
  • No uncomfortable impression trays
  • Beautiful esthetics – color-matched ceramic
  • Enamel-like materials – natural look and feel
  • Clinically proven – millions of successful restorations worldwide

A CEREC restoration isn’t just convenient, it is also healthy. Years ago, dentists could only use amalgam, gold and other metals to fix decayed and damaged teeth. With CEREC, we can use strong, tooth colored ceramic materials to restore your teeth to their natural strength and beauty. Also they’re chemically bonded to your teeth, so the advanced cosmetic dentists at 5th Avenue Dental Associates can save as much healthy tooth tissue as possible, while providing you with a restoration that simultaneously strengthens your tooth.

Fillings, Inlays and Onlays

CEREC filling, inlays and onlays can be used instead of traditional amalgam or composites to create smooth, tooth-colored replacement of material lost to cavities bringing you tooth back to its natural strength.

Crowns

Unlike porcelain fused to metal (PFM) crowns, CEREC is completely metal-free. Although the PFM crowns mimic natural tooth appearance, the metal limits translucency and can sometimes show through as a dark line, especially through the gum line.
